
Super defender Renata Fast’s impressive achievements with the Canadian National Women’s Team already featured Olympic Gold in 2022 and Silver in 2018 when she was named to the CWNT’s roster for Cortina Milano 2026. She also has 7 World Championship medals with the CWNT – Gold in 2021, ’22 and ’24, Silver in 2017, ’23 and ’25 plus Bronze in 2019.
She made her CWNT debut in 2015 and has been a fixture on the blueline ever since. Her minor hockey career with the Burlington Barracudas was followed by an incredible four seasons with the Clarkson University Golden Knights. As a sophomore in 2013-14 she helped Clarkson to its first NCAA championship and was named to the ECAC All-Tournament team. In 2014-15, she was named to the ECAC First All-Star Team.
As a senior in 2016, her goal at the 10-second mark set the record for the fastest goal in NCAA tournament history – the game-winner in the quarter-final against Quinnipiac. In conjunction with her on-ice prowess, Renata emerged as an ECAC Hockey All-Star Academic from 2012-16. The second overall pick in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League draft in 2016, she was brilliant for the Toronto Furies where was a two-time All-Star. Signed as an inaugural free agent on September 6, 2023 by the Toronto Sceptres of the Professional Women’s Hockey League, Fast serves as an Alternate Captain and leader.
She earned PWHL First All-Star Team selection in 2024-25 with 22 points in 30 games and PWHL Second All-Team honours in 2023-24. Renata’s favourite athlete is Becky Kellar, a four-time Olympic medalist (3 Golds, 1 Silver). Like Kellar, Fast hails from Burlington, Ontario – and they’ve made their hometown mighty proud!
