Tristan Bujan
2025 PROVINCIAL EASTER SEALS AMBASSADOR
Tristan brings his positivity and dedication to helping others to his role as a 2025 Provincial Easter Seals Ambassador. At 17, he is an enthusiastic high school student and loves spending time with his family including his younger brother Brandon. He credits his Mother, Michelle with nurturing his positivity and his unbreakable will to succeed.
Tristan enjoys sports like basketball and soccer and he dreams of becoming an actor. Music is another big part of his life—he loves DJ’ing, listening to music, plays the drums, piano, and guitar, and even sings karaoke. Adam Sandler is his acting inspiration and Ed Sheeran is one of his favourite singers. Beyond all this, he is a passionate advocate for causes close to his heart and shares his story to inspire others.
A week before his 10th birthday, Tristan collapsed with a seizure while in cottage country and was airlifted to the hospital, where doctors discovered he had encephalitis—a brain injury caused by something in the environment. The initial seizure led to ongoing seizures, and the brain injury also affects his cognitive and physical abilities. His wheelchair is what supports and enables him to be mobile when his condition renders him unable to walk.
Tristan has become a dedicated advocate for epilepsy awareness, taking on leadership and Ambassador roles at school to foster compassion and understanding. Spreading a positive message is important to him, as he shares, “The most important thing is to know that we can do anything we set our minds to. Yes, I have a disability, but I play sports and musical instruments, sing karaoke, sketch and aspire to be an Actor. You can do what makes you happy too… Happiness and success is always possible – it may just look a little different than what you thought.”
As a Provincial Ambassador, Tristan hopes to inspire other youth with disabilities; or, as he calls it – a “DIFFERENT ABILITY,” showing that with a positive attitude, gratitude, and hard work, anything is possible.
